January 5th-9th was the First Annual Christian Futsal Soccer Camp in Arroyo Grande. Dana Mcgregor, pro soccer player from the area had a vision to raise money for Iris Ministry's Orphanage in Sierra Leone by running a one week soccer camp for 7-15 year olds in the area. Two weeks before the camp started 22 kids were signed up, on the first day of the camp the number had doubled! Dana kept saying when you give it up to the Lord He blesses it! And wow did God bless this week. Dana rallied together a group of men after Gods own heart, who are skilled in soccer (either having played on college teams or professionally) and facilitated a five day camp with 4 dozen kids. It was such a picture of Gods heart. 8 men coming together as one, loving and building up children. The last day they had a soccer and surf day, which was full of music, play, and laughing. Throughout the week testimonies, biblical principles, and sharing the gospel were interwoven. My heart was continually rejoicing through the week being able to photograph and help out at the camp. Michael had an awesome time being with the kids and helping facilitate the players. Thousands of dollars was raised that week and I know more fruit will come and has come from the camp! Praise Jesus!
