Traditional Pinning Ceremony
Two years ago this month we sold all our furniture, packed our cars with boxes and clothes, and waved goodbye to the beautiful central coast of California. Little did we know when we said "I do" we'd both say yes to the call of nursing on our lives. Being uprooted, toiling and trusting in the Lords provisions each step of the way.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! (Psalm 90:17)
This is exactly what the Lord has been doing. Pouring out his favor to open doors, giving sustenance spiritually, physically, and emotionally, and establishing our hands and hearts to serve the sick and dying.
His faithfulness has carried Michael through 4 years of total devotion to this call, which has come with much sacrifice. To now come out on the other side finishing the race with perseverance...it feels so good (I speak on his behalf:)
Michael's nursing school was based on a lottery system. I applied there as well but his number was chosen. We laughed, knowing his lucky number, was actually chosen by God long before.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).
The journey has not been all milk and honey, but it hasn't been 40 years either! Thank you Jesus! We rejoice in this huge milestone of Michael officially becoming a Registered Nurse as of July 3rd. He could not have done it without the continual support of family and friends praying, encouraging, and believing in him every step of the way.
